Question How do I change the text color of the emulationstation menu?
Posted by: AeitZean - 05-01-2018, 10:06 AM - Forum: SUPPORT - Replies (3)

Hi, im running retrorangepi on an orange pi zero 512mb, using the NTSC image, on a really subpar screen. The main menu color is grey text on white background, and with a low contrast, low resolution screen its almost impossible to read. I've set the desktop theme to a dark theme and its really good.

Is there a way to change the emulationstation font to just be plain black rather than gray? i read that the background colors and the rest are hardcoded so will be difficult to change, but while people say its easier to change the text color, I cant find any examples.

thanks a lot.

  DNS resolution not working
Posted by: Gravelrash2004 - 04-30-2018, 10:59 AM - Forum: SUPPORT - Replies (3)

I recently downloaded the following image.

Just to let you know dns resolution is broken on it. if i manually add the following to the /etc/resolv.conf it works

however i appreciate that this isnt ideal as at each reboot this is reset. when i find the full working resolution i will post the instructions back here.

thanks otherwise for a great image. works well with most of hte N64 games we have tested.

Wink Suvell R69 ROPI4.1 quick tips
Posted by: lanefu - 04-29-2018, 05:23 PM - Forum: HARDWARE DISCUSSION - Replies (2)

Here's a quicky a dirty procedure for using ROPI4.1 on the Sunvell R69 tv box with the H2.   Other images and procedures will obviously work, but this is mine.

Start with OrangePi Plus2e Image -- burn to sd card and boot

Once its done installing, exit Emulation station and make sure you're logged in as root on the console

Disable LSB networking, so that network manager won't fight against it.

systemctl disable networking

Install the sunvell Fex file for correct blinky lights, usb, and frequency settings

cp /boot/bin/sunvell-r69.bin /boot/script.bin

Disable incorrect wireless module from /etc/modules

sed -i 's/^8189fs$/#8189fs/' /etc/modules

* You can try the xradio_wlan module, but I would just stick to wired Ethernet
* I've given up on trying to debug the install to on-board flash, just use the SDcard   Wink
* I've found that sometimes after reboot SD boot doesn't work.. I sometimes have to pull the power out a time or to for it to behave,
* Because of it's CPU and thermal limitations, manage your expectations and stick to the lightweight emulators.

  RetrOrangePi handheld project
Posted by: nzPaul - 04-28-2018, 06:04 AM - Forum: GENERAL TALK - Replies (4)

I'd just like to share a project I have been working on. Goal was to build a handheld gaming device for as cheap as possible. So far has come in at around $20 usd.
Computer is an OrangePi Zero
Screen in an 2.8 inch  ili9341 tft
Joystick is full analog (for emulators that support it) and is hooked up to the orange pi via an ads1015 analog to digital convertor.
Next steps:
Get audio going through some mini speakers.
3d print a case for it

Big thanks to all the contributors to the RetrOrangePi project.

Question Please help with 3 questions
Posted by: djalmafreestyler - 04-18-2018, 02:15 AM - Forum: SUPPORT - Replies (2)

Hi, could you please me with 3 questions?

1 - Is it possible to save state?

2 - Is it possible to choose themes, are there themes to select or is just the default?

3 - I was following this tutorial: http://orangepi.club/showthread.php?tid=2269

I have a SD Card with 32GB Class 10, I flashed with the RetrOrange image (.img), but my SD Card create 2 more partitions so:

first partition - 5~GB for the RetrOrange image not writeable
second partition - formatted with some few mbs
third - unformatted partition with the 27 GB.

Is it correct? Will I be able to format and put games inside of this new partition inside the SD card?

I thought that It will flash the SD card, use the space needed to the image and with the free space (using same partition) I put the roms that I wanted.

Thank you.
