OpiPC, 4.2 FULL, Kodi can't find any USB device
Posted by: Roy - 12-31-2018, 11:42 AM - Forum: RetrOrangePi v4.2 version - No Replies

Hi, as the title says, yesterday I found out that in the 4.2 FULL release, if you start KODI and then try to open a file on a USB pendrive, for example, a video file, you can't even find the USB.

I tried the same pendrive on the 4.1 release, and it works perfectly, Kodi finds the usb drive and you can navigate into it, so the problem is not the pendrive.

If this is true, Kodi is almost completely useless in 4.2 FULL, cause it can't find any USB device connected to the OrangePi. Sad

Any idea?

Openbor menu controls and file limit.
Posted by: kill_us_Now - 12-19-2018, 03:38 PM - Forum: RetrOrangePi v4.2 version - Replies (1)

Hi , have little problem with openbor, overall it works well but to move select and launch games it wont recognize my ps3 original controller, it can only be done with a keyboard.

Once in game the controller works as it should, its just on the menu. I have googled some but coundt find an answer. ¿is there any way to edit menu controls?

Also, if i place more than 18 openbor games the menu crashes to emulation station, not a big deal anyway.

Thx and nice work Smile

  Is the Plus2e worth buying
Posted by: djcasl - 12-18-2018, 02:28 PM - Forum: HARDWARE DISCUSSION - Replies (3)

I have a Opi PC plus version 1G. Now I am considering the Plus2E, (H3 version with 2GB mem)
I am wondering is the 2GB memory worth it, or will performance be only slightly better.
If anyone has experience with the Plus 2E version please let me know.

I am working on a Opi bartop arcade and maybe this would be a great addition.

Sometimes OTG doesn't resume on rtc event
Posted by: effelle - 12-15-2018, 10:18 PM - Forum: RetrOrangePi v4.2 version - No Replies

Hi all!

I've been using rtcwake and similar utilities since the early 2000 and now that I have my OPI ONE up and running I would like to use rtcwake with it too.
On Armbian (and RetrOrange too) It's working out of the box:

Code:
pi@RetrOrangePi:~$ sudo rtcwake -m mem -s 30
rtcwake: assuming RTC uses UTC ...
rtcwake: wakeup from "mem" using /dev/rtc0 at Thu Jan  1 00:14:10 1970
pi@RetrOrangePi:~$
but I found an issue with OTG port (usbhost0): on resume sometimes doesn't works.
Even if on dmesg is marked as resetted and up and running.
Code:
[   88.744030] usb usb1: root hub lost power or was reset
[   88.744217] usb usb4: root hub lost power or was reset
[   88.744785] usb usb2: root hub lost power or was reset
[   88.754063] usb usb3: root hub lost power or was reset
[   88.784078] usb usb7: root hub lost power or was reset
[   88.804080] usb usb6: root hub lost power or was reset
[   88.814055] usb usb5: root hub lost power or was reset
[   88.814066] usb usb8: root hub lost power or was reset
[   89.120073] usb 2-1: reset high-speed USB device number 2 using sunxi-ehci
[   89.450084] usb 5-1: reset full-speed USB device number 2 using sunxi-ohci
Funny thing, when happens a reboot doesn't resolve: my OPI needs a power cycle to back to normal.
What do you use to suspend and resume at specific time or to set alarms?

Thanks,

F.
