  SNES Emulator Error
Posted by: hyksoss - 12-28-2019, 04:09 AM - Forum: RetrOrangePi v4.3 - No Replies

I have a retro system based on retrorangepi that I dearly love.  It was one that I did not create but came as a package. Recently I started receiving an error when I go to play SNES games.  It is asking for a default emulator but it will not allow me to choose any of the selections to advance the screen.  Screen shot attached.

When it boots it says RetrOrangePi v4.0 , RetroPie v4.4.3, EmulationStation v2.6.5

Can anyone help me resolve the issue?

Need help installing Retrorangepi 4.3 into microSD (Orange Pi PC)
Posted by: ministryofnoobs - 12-28-2019, 02:44 AM - Forum: RetrOrangePi v4.3 - Replies (4)

Hi All,

I have a problem not being able to boot anything after installing the .img into micro sd.

The workflow i have followed is

1. Quick Format with SD Card Formatter (I have also tried Overwrite Format and not working)
2. Write image using Win32diskimager (also tried BalenaEtcher and still not working)

Need some help here. I am pretty sure the issue here is either the .img or the way i install it into the micro sd.

  Amiberry and whdload.
Posted by: Lamerjack - 12-22-2019, 12:50 AM - Forum: RetrOrangePi v4.3 - Replies (3)

At the moment i'm using just a keyboard i don't have here a joypad.
If i load a game from adf i can play the game without issue moving the keys up down left right and fire on the keyboards i can simulate joystick.
If i load a whdload game no movements...
Pressing F12 with a adf game i can see a config highlited. but if i press F12 when a game whdload is loaded there is no config highlited...
this let me think that config is missing.
Where i can get config?
If i have to create by myself wich is the exact name? (i remember that if in the name there is AGA amyberry will search a1200 config so wich one is for WHDLOAD ?)
Regards.
E.

Controller works in emulationstation but not in games
Posted by: ebonflame - 12-21-2019, 05:10 AM - Forum: RetrOrangePi v4.3 - No Replies

I'm currently running RetrorangePI 4.2 on an OrangePI PC 2 and am using an Nvidia Sheild controller with the 1.04 firmware.  The controller is recognized by Emulationstation and allows me to configure the buttons.  The controller then works fine within Emulationstation itself but when I select any game, it is reported that the controller is not configured.  I have tried the following steps:

1) Unplug and plug in the controller from the USB port - this results in the message that the Nvidia Shield controller has been removed, but when I plug it back in it still states the controller is not configured.

2) Retropie-Setup - I entered in RetroPie setup and went to clear Emulationstation's controller settings and rebooted.  Same scenario as before, configs fine, works in EmulationStation, reported as not configured when trying to play a game

3) Different controller - I also have a PC controller that I have tried.  The exact same things happens.  It is recognized, I can configure the buttons, then not configured when I try and play a game.

4) Format my Sandisk SD card using the SD formatter, redownloaded the image and used Etcher to reburn the image.  No change.

Any help would be appreciated.  Some games work with the keyboard but I cannot exit the emulation to go back to the main menu while playing on the keyboard.

Thank you for your assistance

  OPi PC2 H5 or OPi PC H3
Posted by: MrShanks - 12-07-2019, 12:45 PM - Forum: RetrOrangePi v4.3 - Replies (4)

Hello everybody!

This is going to be my first SBC ever, I primarily want it for the retro emulation of PS1/N64/SNES/NES etc., I don't have any experience on other boards but these two looked really nice especially the PC2 H5 because of the specifications, can I install the ROPi on it, does it function properly, because I'm reading that it's not working, only version 4.3 and it's only basic? I've still not ordered anything but will be making my purchase these days, you guys know way more than me, and if possible could you give me an advice? I'm tech savy, I have basic technical knowledge but haven't had any of these small computers, and want to get on to them for a small amount for the time being. Smile
