  Overclock and emulator performance?
Posted by: jonap - 01-21-2017, 09:38 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Hi friends im a user of raspberry pi 3 + Orange pi pc since retrorangepi 2.5

I see ropi 2.5 works very well with opi pc in all of 2D games except CPS3 ( works fine but some tearing efects in some cases ).
The problem comes in N64 and PSX, first imposible to play fine and Psx seems fine but not 100% fluid.

With 3.0.1 ropi the compatibility/stability of these systems cps3, psx , n64 are improved? in raspi 3 cps3 and psx works at 100% now too in ropi?

if not its a good idea to do some overclock to opi pc with heath sinks+fan to be safe but i dont know where and what commands put, thanks for all on advance!

  About cooling and temperatures
Posted by: kill_us_Now - 01-20-2017, 09:23 PM - Forum: Support area - Replies (1)

Are heatsinks needed? or recommended at least? if so, how do u stick the heatsinks to the chips? i have seen that ppl stick them with adhesive films but i think that the heat transmission would be better with thermal paste, right? how have u made it guys(if any)?

About the fans, can a fan be attached in the same pins that on the raspberry pi? are they distributed in the same way?

I have some spare broken pc motherboards and was thinking about taking the smaller heatsinks for the pi.

  Attract Mode
Posted by: kill_us_Now - 01-19-2017, 10:22 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Hi everybody! a orange pi pc is on his way to my home in Spain, meanwhile i was wondering if attract mode is posible on opis, and, if so, i have some questions about videos:

- ¿videos must be of some specific lenght?
- ¿videos can be recorded on attract mode itself or must be added by urself?

All this is cause i have a 64gb image downloaded with their own videos and i wanted to save some space on it by cutting videos and reencoding them again, i can save maybe 10 gb with this and meanwhile i wait the pi i can tune the image  Tongue

Thx to devs for all ur efforts and hard work, much appreciated really.

  OpenElec after boot
Posted by: tetref - 01-19-2017, 07:28 AM - Forum: Support area - Replies (4)

Hey guys, you can set the system to boot straight into OpenElec and then switch to EmulationStation? I have little experience of Armbian... Previously, I used the OpenElec as a multimedia center.

Is there a list of supported Gamepads...?
If not i suggest we create a list of ones because right know my ancient GamePad and my Bluetooth GamePad they are both unsupported...
Supported = either plug and play OR detailed guide to make them work

  Glupen64 in 3.1?
Posted by: niabi - 01-17-2017, 10:13 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I just installed the nightly Lakka build for the OpiPC, while it doesn't look as good as RetrOrange pi, I noticed it includes the Glupen64 core, this core makes my N64 ROMS run way better than the muppen64 included in RetrOrange pi 3, are there any plans to include the new cores in 3.1?

if not, is there a simple way to replace the muppen64 core with the Glupen64 one?
