Pendrive as a "Cartridge"
Posted by: LucasAugusto - 12-13-2016, 03:41 AM - Forum: Solved threads (also check FAQ and HOWTOs) - Replies (16)

Is there a way to automatically load roms from a pendrive?

Example: Plug a pendrive full of roms, turn on the orange pi and then the roms will be available to play.

User manual for the Plus 2E?
Posted by: Galane - 12-12-2016, 06:29 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

The launch of the Plus 2E has been very badly handled by Xunlong. No manual, no quick start guide, few OS files ready for it, not even a simple picture with callouts for the ports, buttons etc like they have for the other models. It's not simply a Plus 2 with an E tacked on, there's a bunch of differences. No USB hub, all 4 ports are direct from the H3, different networking chips too.

Someone over there needs their pants glued to a chair in front of a computer until they get this support material online. All this stuff should be ready BEFORE a product is ready to sell. This board first shipped in May *seven months ago*. There's simply no excuse for this lack of info from the manufacturer.

They're doing a very good job of emulating Sega's disastrous launch of the Saturn game console where they had minimal info available in advance for game companies and the SDK wasn't finished either. Programmers had no clue how to use all the console's features.

how do you manually install retropie?
Posted by: sambena - 12-11-2016, 03:40 AM - Forum: Development section (to be updated) - Replies (8)

I was wondering how you would manually install retropie. Have have tried following the how to on their github page but it is for raspbian and the current rasbian build for the pc plus is kinda borked.

I would really like to install it on armbian but getting it to install on anything would be a good start.

when I tried armbian I ran into a bug where it was asking me to set __platform
it gives options like armv7_mali etc  do you know what I should set this to?

  mirrors and correct images
Posted by: sambena - 12-11-2016, 03:17 AM - Forum: Debian - Replies (4)

I have noticed that on the orange pi website, many of download links are pointing to the wrong image or the image they point to is kinda borked.  for instance, the raspbian image is supposed to be Raspbian_For_OrangePi_pcplus.img.xz but actually points to Raspbian_For_OrangePi2_mini2_v0_8_0.img.xz.

I have tried that image and it boots but it is missing some key features like wifi.

does anyone know of any mirrors that point to the correct images?

How i can change the Video Resolution
Posted by: jehantavares - 12-10-2016, 03:37 PM - Forum: Solved threads (also check FAQ and HOWTOs) - Replies (1)

I would like to know how I can change the video resolution of the games, using filters, etc., because the video quality that comes by default in Retroarch is bad. I would like to know if it is necessary to increase the video memory used and how can I do this. I am using an Orange Pi One. I saw in some forum that by default Retropie uses 64 Mb for the video. Thanks in advance.
