RetroEngine Sigma - Update from IndieGoGo
Posted by: duke2k7 - 08-21-2017, 07:54 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

So guys,

I've now (with much help from you) fixed up a fresh image of RetrOrangePi fully working with my favourite games, but I did send an email to what I thought was Doyodo yesterday...

Basically, the email read as a genuine customer complaint having found out they had re-marketed a cheap motherboard, patched (very badly) the RetrOrangePi OS and bundled it as a commercial package which isn't allowed and basically how I felt incredibly ripped-off, just like the 7000-odd other customers.

Transpires the email address it came from (although labelled RetroEngine) was actually from Indiegogo, who have emailed me back today telling me that they are beginning an investigation into the whole RetroEngine Sigma farce, especially in respect of them using prohibited software to get people to buy from them.

I imagine that I will soon be getting regular emails from IndieGoGo's legal team....

I didnt forsee me being a crusader for RetrOrangePi when I backed this campaign lol.

Ill keep you all posted.

  Orange Pi Lite Cases
Posted by: duke2k7 - 08-20-2017, 11:21 AM - Forum: Links to DIY sets - Replies (1)

Guys,

I have a store on Etsy that normally only sells 3d printed props, but I am going to try and design a practical case for the OrangePi Lite that will be cheap to produce but strong enough, with dedicated spaces for fans and heatsinks.

Once I have sorted it I will upload images to here so you can see, and the forum users will get them cheaper than anyone else.

Just a small way of saying thank you for all of the stupid questions I ask lol.

Duke.

Strange Error messages - help understanding them

Hey guys,

Me again (I must have done about 4 threads already and I only joined an hour ago lol)
Please see the images that i have attached, these are the errors I am getting on various updates. Am I right in guessing this is why some emus wont run even with the BIOS file in place?

  Sega MasterSystem & Megadrive Emu

Guys,

Is there any specific reason that the MasterSystem emu wont run 'as-is'? Ive loaded the roms into the correct folders but once you select the rom and start, it fades back into the rom selection menu.

RetroEngine Sigma - Im trying to fix Doyodo's screwup
Posted by: duke2k7 - 08-20-2017, 10:18 AM - Forum: Solved threads (also check FAQ and HOWTOs) - Replies (1)

Hey guys,

Firstly, thanks for allowing me to join the forum.

I was having some issues using Doyodo's badly patched RetrOrangePi so I downloaded my own but there seems to be some issues that I need a little help with.

I can find my way around the system using SSH, but I have encountered some snags, namely:

1. I get the 'fatal: could not read Username for 'https://github.com' error saying there is no username or password
2. When I try to apt-get to upgrade/update some seems okay, but then when I try to update the packages it fails, every time
3. I cannot use Stephen Selph's scraper as it keeps telling me it isnt there.
4. Does anyone have the script to use the 'p1/p2' buttons on the RetroEngine Sigma unit with RetrOrangePi?

Could a few of you point me in the right direction please?

Im so disappointed with the whole RetroEngine Sigma experience but Im happy I have discovered Orange Pi as I was - up to this point - a very faithful Raspberry Pi user but I do lik this hardware much more.

Thanks a lot guys, Im looking forward to learning much and being a contributor to the forum

RetrOrangePi 3.0.1 OP PC doesn't seem to boot
Posted by: Vital - 08-15-2017, 02:48 PM - Forum: Solved threads (also check FAQ and HOWTOs) - No Replies

Hello !

At first sorry if i didn't post in the good section...

I just got a Orange Pi PC and i really enjoyed starting playing with this.

But when I plug my sd card flashed with Retrorangepi 3.0.1 nothing happen, the power led still stay green and my screen black.

I tried  with a 16gb class 10 and a 64gb u1 sd card, flashed and formated  sd cardformater v5.0 and win32diskimager, Etcher and delete/recreate partition with MiniTool Partition Wizard but still nothing.

For information i tried with sucess Debian, armbian, lubuntu and android and i am on window 10, hdmi screen and 5V 2.5a power supply.

Maybe should i try with an older version of retrorange pi ?

Thanks for any helps. Heart

  Small tft display
Posted by: korrmet - 08-10-2017, 07:18 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

Hi all!

I'm trying to start 3,5 tft display using fbtft. I connecting to Orangepi via rs232 terminal. So i already startx using this tool but display starts work only after i enter command "startx". After that i see xfce desktop.

Please help me to start this display at boot. I don't know linux at well and don't know what i need to do/learn at first. I think i need some method to set hdmi resolution to 480x320, remap it to some framebuffer and after that configure fbtft_device driver to use selected framebuffer. But i don't shure and i don't know how to do it.

I'm sorry by my English.
