Included Firefox Browser Freezes the OPi lite - DeJaVu - 05-06-2018

I have been trying to do some light browsing on the OPi Lite, but every time i try to start Firefox it would become unresponsive and only remedy was reboot. The lack of ram is clearly the culprit here, adding swap file doesnt seem to improve the situation much.

The workaround for me in case anyone is interested and owns the Lite, was installing a lighter browser, in this case Midori.
You can install it by running in terminal  "sudo apt-get install midori" , it does the job great.
Maybe there are some better alternatives and id be glad to try them out if there are any suggestions.

Btw, i think it would be a good idea to add some lighter browser in OPi Lite and One distros , as firefox doesnt cut it for them, at least in my experience.

Do you have heatsink/cooler? Using the browser draws a lot of CPU. So monitor temperature: sudo armbianmonitor -m should say, anyway we'll test other browsers

Yeah a lot of heatsink and cooler Smile. On stress with 4 cores engaged 100% i get max 53 degrees after 15 min.
