[SOLVED] Expand partition after changing SD cards - luckithroe - 04-13-2019

Hello,

I recently received my RetroStone and am really enjoying it so I invested in a larger SD card. I imaged my orange pi configuration on the RetroStone and put it back to a larger card. Everything is working perfectly but it seems the partition size is still the same as on the original SD card. Is there an easy way to extend the partition to utilize the new SD card without losing all the data?

Thanks in advance,
~Blue

two alternatives
1. insert your sdcard into another linux machine (or live cd/usb session) , run GPARTED or similar

Worked like a charm (used option 2), you sir are amazing! Thanks so much!

Actually AlexKidd I have a question...

After the reboot I run the final command you mentioned, but it says something about "online resizing required". I'm not really sure what that command output is supposed to be. I checked in the desktop app and the space appears to be there, but I'm unsure if the last step worked as you would expect. Please advise.

yes, it worked.
found out my log was incorrect (if you repeat the resize2fs command, you'll get the same, as the resizing already ocurred)
