Some very important information for Retrostone users:

1. RetrOrangePi is a non profit gaming and media center distribution compatible with boards equipped with CPU H3 and GPU Mali 400 (most Orange Pis, Banana Pi M2+, Beelink X2 and NanoPi M1). It is based on Armbian (Linux Debian 8) and RetroPie.

2. Emulationwise, most games should run fine up to the Sony Playstation. Things get hit and miss on Dreamcast, MAME, N64 and PSP. Games like Super Mario 64, Mario Kart, Zelda OOT (N64), Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins, LittleBigPlanet, GTA Vice City (PSP), Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure and Shenmue (Dreamcast) are some examples of games that run fine with a few minor issues. Conker (N64), God of War (PSP), Sega Saturn and 3DO games are NOT PLAYABLE.

3. Being based on RetroPie does not mean everything is the same. There are some exclusive features in Raspberry version and some others in RetrOrangepi as well. Anyway, RetroPie wiki is a great source of info: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki

4. Not all platforms are supported in the SLIM release (examples: Amiga, AtariST, DOS, Apple II, Atari 8bit and some other obscure computer emulators). They will be included in FULL release, expected release in 7-10 days. Also includes the Armbian Desktop, Kodi and other stuff.

5. Supported video modes are HDMI and builtin LCD. Switching between them is not automatic. Use the ROPI RCA bashtool from RetroPie - RetrOrangePi section (options 1 - HDMI and 4 - NTSC RCA are the only ones you need). If you left on HDMI by accident, turn on the unit, wait two minutes, press the side button , it will reboot automatically to LCD.

6. Allwinner boards (most Orange PIs, Retrostone included) are very sensitive to SD card quality. So, avoid cheap cards like the plague, even if it's a supposedly good brand. Also, as the system is mounted on it, NEVER turn off the device before shutting down properly from Quit menu. Otherwise it will cause filesystem corruption and no boot afterwards.

7. If / when the screen starts flickering, battery is running short. Turn off the device and charge it for ~5 hours. (last blue led lit).

8. When you backed the Retrostone , it was only the hardware. Software is free/opensource and keeps on surviving on donations and other kinds of support (software/hardware contributions). So if you want continued support and improved features, consider helping: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cm...7TDPGUN8M2

9. Hardware issues must be addressed with Pierre. Software issues are discussed exclusively here on this forum or the Github (https://github.com/retr0rangepi/) . Search first then open a new thread with full details so support can be improved. Help me to help you.
