Kodi : videos not playing
#11
(12-30-2017, 12:44 PM)alexkidd Wrote: Check ~/.kodi/temp/kodi.log for the error, its usually non compliant files and protocols. When it comes to addons, its likeky to be authentication problems

I restored the system from backup image, looks like I have an almost dead lan port.

--- 192.168.1.1 ping statistics ---
159 packets transmitted, 12 received, 92% packet loss, time 158005ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 0.338/0.410/0.780/0.114 ms

I kept most heavy roms and video snaps on network drive and mounted needed folders with fstab on startup. After i changed a radiator, the boot didn't go further loading screen. And now i see why. I don't know what happened. It seems like my adventures "if something can go wrong, then it goes wrong" with linux stuff goes on, hehe.

i have found a workaround:

follow this guide:

first logon to your orangepi using the user pi and do:
mkdir /mnt/nasvideo

then copy past:
cat <<EOT >> ~/.smbcredentials
username=msusername
password=mspassword
EOT

then do => sudo nano /etc/fstab
then add the line at the end:
//192.168.1.10/video /mnt/nasvideo cifs credentials=/home/pi/.smbcredentials,iocharset=utf8,sec=ntlm 0 0

then to check do:
sudo mount -a
ls /mnt/nasvideo

at this point your video must be listed
do sudo reboot
add the datasource using kodi ui :
add datasource => browse => root => mnt => nasvideo

ps:
replace nasvideo by the folder name of your choice
replace 192.168.1.10 with the ip of your samba server
replace video by the name of the shared folder
