Running ROMS from USB

I have an OPI PLUS 2 wanted to know how I keep the EMMC memory boot and the other files on a hd over the SATA connection, I have wired this link: https://docs.armbian.com/User-Guide_Gett...d-sata-usb

what iam know need you the eMMC or SD-Card to boot the system!
Orange-Pi have no Bios-Flash(SPI) or others with Boot-information

you need a storage with the boot information
its not possible to run the system only from USB HDD or Stick without eMMC or SD-Card
its not possible to run the system on eMMC and the Roms on SD-Card or the other way around
