Edimax EW-7611ULB 2-In-1 Wi-Fi & Bluetooth 4.0 Nano USB Adapter
#1
Anyone know if the Edimax EW-7611ULB 2-In-1 Wi-Fi & Bluetooth 4.0 Nano USB Adapter will work with RetrOrangePi v4.2? It's the only nano sized combined wi-fi and bluetooth adapter I've found. Googling it seems that the wifi is ok with Linux, but maybe not the bluetooth, but threads I found were from over a year ago, so perhaps drivers have been sorted?

Looks like it's only supported from Kernel 3.19. So, as we use legacy kernel, it's a no-go

Ok, thanks. Is there a list of compatible bluetooth and wifi dongles that are compatible, or at least the chipset/architectures that have drivers?

I believe we had a few threads on this forum about hardware compatibility, try the search field

Thanks, thought you'd say that ;-) lol. So I bought Plugable USB 2.0 Wireless N 802.11n 150 Mbps Nano WiFi Network Adapter (Realtek RTL8188EUS Chipset) which seemed compatible with Linux and got good reviews. Hoping it works, but if not, it's from Amazon so it can be returned! Given up on the combination wifi and bluetooth. Will report back if it works, to help out others.

BTW Plugable wifi adapter didn't work. Tried downloading Realtek drivers to no avail. Managed to get an old Rosewill wifi adapter that I had years ago to work though, just looks a bit odd on the Retrostone as it's pretty large with an antennae etc.

Thanks for the heads up Dr. B
