Change Resolution
#1
apologies if this has been asked.....

I trying to enable a SPI screen

using
https://github.com/bitbank2/SPI_LCD
(running RetrorangePi 4.2 slim)

which goes fine until it gives me an error because of the resolution....

i'm used to Retropie, which has a config.txt that this can be adjusted/altered
(Retrorangepi realy needs something like this)

how can i change the resolution?
running RetrorangePi 4.2 slim

please advise

thank you

allwinner boards work differently than raspberries so a config.txt is not feasible.

There is the easy way (sudo armbian-config) where display resolutions can be tweaked (not sure about SPI, probably not)

and the hard way, tweaking the script.bin file with sunxi-tools (installed), bin2fex (converts to fex, makes the file editable) and fex2bin, switches back to binary) . Check syntax in http://linux-sunxi.org/Fex_Guide

i really dont what to say....

using a SPI screen (like a ili9341) is doable with this OS....

but people just dont want to help or grow this community.....
and then they wonder why theres little or no supports for these boards....

great help as always

We dont have any SPI screen to test and give proper support. RetrOrangePi is a small non profit project with almost no resources to grow.
