I applied the fix. NDS emulator drastic works fine now.

The problem was that the audio device failed to open.

Samba doesn't work - it isn't installed and isn't even available in packages list in aptitude, samba-libs only.
apt update brings following errors:
Err:2 http://security.debian.org jessie/updates InRelease
The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 9D6D8F6BC857C906 NO_PUBKEY AA8E81B4331F7F50
...
Err:4 http://archive.debian.org/debian jessie-backports InRelease

there is a bug on the updater. It shouldnt be there for the latest v4.3 image, as it fetches new repository info to fix Debian Jessie bug on v4.2 and older.

revert to original repo file:
wget http://retrorangepi.download/sources.list
sudo mv sources.list /etc/apt/
sudo apt-get update

Strange, I downloaded new 4.3 a week or so ago...

Thank you, replacing sources.list solved the issue.
Why not to include it (just for cases similar to my one) in ropi update script? I noticed it does something to apt anyway, probably we can assure that right sources.list is used as well...

Just some questions:
1.[AUDIO]
I try sudo nano /etc/asound.conf
then edit
I have error:
Volume Controll::init() failed find mixer elements

I do as you said:
changed pcm "hw 1,0" -> to hw 0,0
and card 1 to card 0 (at the end of the file)

2.[UPDATE]
if I want to update kodi or retroarch what should I do (without mess with the system)?

3.Can I add link to emulationstation? in the 4.3 version there is no Kodi link like in the 4.1

thanks a lot in advace.

1. HDMI audio has no mixer, that's why the message appears. There is a workaround for boards with analog audio, otherwise maybe editing emulationstation is needed
2. Kodi cannot be updated, as it's self compiled to work directly on GBM mode , not Desktop (X11). Retroarch must be built from source from retropie-setup, but it's probably broken because we blacklisted some dependencies to avoid conflict with installed ones, specially Mali, GL, GLES libraries, so it's recommended to wait for our official updates
3. Not to the main menu , as it's built into the source code and more complex than before. But there is a link for Kodi in RetroPie - RetrOrangePi section

Thank you so much. I will continue to test the build for now it's working find after the fixes that I've read here. Just one last question.
Is some what related to samba issues that my external hard drive is correctly mounted on armbian but kodi doesn't see it?

I couldnt reproduce it. just mounted a flash drive, it appears on File Manager.
run 'mount' from commandline and check what is the mountpoint, then add this source
