Opi PC2 - Kodi Not Working
#1
When launching Kodi on Orange Pi PC2 it loads to a garbled image.

Any thoughts on things to check or try?

P.S. Thank you very much for bring this project to PC2!

I have tried from the retrorangepi section and also as the default boot option.
Both ways result in a garbled image

can you try a fresh image? I was pretty sure to test the image before...
did you update or install packages to the system?

btw, when exactly does it happen?

I reinstalled a fresh image this morning before posting.
I have not updated or installed any packages.

I am using a 40" 4k Samsung TV in case that might be relevant.

I've attached a picture of what the screen is showing....nm apparently I can't get it to attach to my message.

Image of problem

This happens as soon as kodi loads.
If I click around I can get white pixels to show up on the left hand side so I think it's loading okay but the display is totally messed up

yes, 4K is probably the problem. Can you test another TV set?

Afraid not, I only have the one TV.

Can I force kodi to start at 1080p somehow?

I checked my TV settings but didn't find a way to set it to a lower resolution.

Desktop loads properly at 4k so at least I know the board is capable of outputting 4k.

i havent tried overriding resolution yet, but you can try to follow instructions from here: https://kodi.wiki/view/Advancedsettings.xml
creating advancedsettings.xml in /home/pi/.kodi/userdata/

I'll give it a try and report back

I can confirm that 4k seems to be the problem.
Using a HDMI to DVI cable i was able to load kodi successfully at 1080p on my computer monitor.

I have yet to find a solution to get this to work on my TV.
Kodi defaults to 4096x2160/30p when connected to HDMI on my tv.

To make the desktop usable i set its resolution to 1080p.
I definitely dont need 4k for emulators.
So...
I tried to set the system resolution to 1080p using boot.cmd but was not successful.
Is there a way to default the entire OS to 1080p, ignoring the 4k capability of my tv?
